Boxes for Philippines
Unloading the boxes to be shipped

A transport company from Zürich helped us by shipping 10 boxes of humanitarian aid material for a yearly dental project held in Cebu (Philippines). This has been the second time that this company has helped us with free of charge shipping which allows us to send materials much further then would normally be possible.

New Transport Van
In 1999, Nestlé in Dakar donated a used van for our local work in Senegal. We repaired it, put windows and seats in, and started to use it to transport the children of the Social Center we were taking care of. With the help of Iveco France we got a new motor and many needed parts. For 9 years it was also our delivery van to distribute food to 12 centers for children and handicapped youth, feeding about 400 children. A kind Swiss garage owner in Dakar even helped us to redo the whole body work. At the end it was still in very good condition as we had taken good care of it, so we sold it to a local Catholic school that is using it to transport children.
When we came back to Europe last year, we found that our new mission home in Switzerland needed a new van as theirs was very old. Iveco France helped us with a very large discount so we could get an almost new and very spacious van for collecting goods in Switzerland for our humanitarian projects in Eastern Europe and Africa. We are very thankful for the trust and generosity of the sweet people who help us to accomplish our volunteer work with more efficiency.

Yearly Basel Reunion
We also held and attended our yearly meeting in Basel with some of our part-time members and close friends and associates. We hosted over 40 people from all over Switzerland and South Germany. The event included an evening barbecue with sports and games and discussions on new ways to make our team-working more effective and efficient. It was a great time to see old friends and get to know some new ones.
Equipment for Mission Centers
We recently got a donation of 20 fridge/freezers from a company that produces them here in Switzerland. The freezers had been slightly damaged on the exterior during the moving process from the factory to the warehouse. Because of this the company that produced them could no longer sell them, so they donated them to us. We have sent a few already to missions in Romania and will look for other centers that are being set-up and in need this kind of equipment.
